Badgers Down Duke 34-20 in Hall of Fame Bowl

Senior Terrell Fletcher rushed for a Hall of Fame Bowl-record 241 yards as Wisconsin won its second January bowl game in as many years with a 34-20 triumph over Duke.

Fletcher gained 190 yards and scored two touchdowns in the second half to ice the win.

Wisconsin intercepted three passes in the opening half. Jeff Messengers 19-yard return of one of those pickoffs resulted in the Badgers first score.

Duke eventually tied the game in the third period before Fletcher took over the contest. Fletcher broke the deadlock with a one-yard run late in the third quarter. Jason Burns extended the margin to 27-13 with an 11-yard reception from Darrell Bevell.

After the Blue Devils cut the margin to seven (27-20) on Robert Baldwins second score, Fletcher turned a critical third-and-one play into a 49-yard touchdown run to clinch the win.

More than 30,000 fans made the trip to Tampa as UW won its third game in a row and second bowl in two years to close the season 8-3-1.
