Saturday, April 20
The Badgers officially put the wraps on spring practice Saturday with the Cardinal team's 61-47 win over the White squad in front of 12,050 fans at Camp Randall Stadium. The Cardinal, composed of UW's defensive unit, used three straight three-and-outs around halftime to take the lead for good.
Sophomore LB Joe Schobert and junior LB Marcus Trotter led the way for the Cardinal with seven tackles each, including a sack for Schobert. Sophomore LB Vince Biegel had a pair of sacks, including one for a safety.
For the White squad, sophomore QB Joel Stave went 15-for-20 for 161 yards and a touchdown, with junior WR Kenzel Doe snagging eight passes for 93 yards and sophomore FB Derek Watt hauling in a 5-yard TD pass. On the ground, sophomore Melvin Gordon carried 17 times for 74 yards and a touchdown.

The 2013 Wisconsin Football Spring Game is set for 4 p.m. Saturday at Camp Randall Stadium. Prior to the game, the annual Badger Kids' Fair will be open to fans from 2-4 p.m. inside the McClain Center, adjcacent to Camp Randall.

The Badgers were up and at it early Friday, capping the second-to-last week of spring ball with a 6 a.m. practice in the McClain Center. Afterward, head coach Gary Andersen offered some updates on the Badgers' progress heading into the final week of drills.
The team is off until Monday's scrimmage, which will be open to the public and begins at 4 p.m.
Andersen also joined Jack Arute's College Football Playbook show on SiriusXM College Sports Nation to talk about his transition to UW and the team's growth this spring.

The Badgers were outside again Saturday and drilled in front of about 850 fans that turned out for the first of two open practice sessions this spring. It was a big day for the offense, which got touchdowns from WR Jared Abbrederis, WR Kenzel Doe, WR Jordan Fredrick and RB James White during the live scrimmage portion of practice.
