The Wisconsin mens basketball team defeated ninth-ranked Texas 67-66 Saturday at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas. Senior guard Michael Flowers hit a 3-pointer with two seconds left in the game then stole the ensuing Longhorns inbounds pass to seal the victory for UW.
The win was the first for Wisconsin on the road over a top-10 team since the Badgers defeated No. 4 Ohio State, 72-71, on Jan. 26, 1980 in Columbus, Ohio.
Senior Brian Butch paced the Badgers with 21 points and 11 rebounds, his third double-double of the season. Junior forward Marcus Landry added 14 points as the two post players combined make 16-of-30 shots. Sophomore guard Jason Bohannon, getting his first career start in place of the injured Trevon Hughes, scored 10 points (three 3-pointers) and grabbed five rebounds.
