Dec. 16, 2009
MADISON, Wis. --Jon Leuer has been lighting up opposing defenses lately and now he's taking his act to the Big Ten Network. Coming off back-to-back double-doubles in the last two games vs. Green Bay and Marquette, Leuer chats about the Badgers and his hot streak.
Leuer scored a career-best 26 points with 10 rebounds at Green Bay and then followed that up with 24 points and a career-high 12 rebounds vs. Marquette.
The junior's back-to-back double-doubles are the first at UW since Joe Krabbenhoft turned the trick vs. Green Bay (12-10) and Valparaiso (11-11) in 2007.
He is the first player to post consecutive 20-10 games since Alando Tucker accomplished that vs. UNC-Greensboro (21- 15) and Western Carolina (21-10) in 2004.
Leuer ranks second on the team and ninth in the Big Ten in scoring with 16.3 points per game. He has posted double figures in eight of UW's nine games, only failing to hit that mark vs. Arizona when foul trouble limited him to just 10 minutes of action.
Leuer has posted six straight games in double figures for the first time in his career.
