Series Notes This will be the first-ever meeting between Wisconsin and Cal Poly in men’s basketball. The Badgers own a 6-1 record all-time against teams from the Big West Conference.

One to Watch Jon Leuer posted back-to-back double-doubles for the first time in his career in the Badgers’ last two games vs. Green Bay and Marquette. Leuer scored a career-best 26 points with 10 rebounds at Green Bay followed by a 24-point game with a career-high 12 rebounds vs. Marquette.

The junior’s back-to-back double-doubles are the first at UW since Joe Krabbenhoft turned the trick vs. Green Bay (12 points, 10 rebounds) and Valparaiso (11, 11) in 2007. Leuer is also the first player to post consecutive 20-10 games since Alando Tucker did so vs. UNC-Greensboro (21, 15) and Western Carolina (21, 10) in 2004.

About Cal Poly First-year head coach Joe Callero inherits a pair of starters from last year’s Mustangs squad, which finished 7-21 overall and missed out on the Big West tournament. The top returner is honorable mention All-Big West pick Lorenzo Keeler, a senior guard who ranked eighth in the league in scoring at 12.7 points per game last season. Also back is junior guard Shawn Lewis, who led Cal Poly in rebounding (5.0 rpg) and also chipped in an average of 11.7 points per contest. Cal Poly had four players average double-figure scoring last season, but of those, only Keeler (12.7 ppg) and Lewis (11.7) return.

Keeler was the Mustangs’ top scorer last season continues to lead the team in this season as well. The 6-foot-2 senior guard is posting an average of 12.3 points per game, along with 1.6 rebounds per game. Newcomer Will Donahue, a sophomore transfer from Phoenix College, is also a key producer for Cal Poly this season, following Keeler closely in points per game with 11.7 and 1.1 rebounds per game.
