MADISON, Wis. Behind Jon Leuer's 19 points, three rebounds and two assists, the Wisconsin men's basketball team cruised past SIU-Edwardsville, 88-58, Tuesday night at the Kohl Center. Leuer, Marcus Landry, Trevon Hughes and Jason Bohannon all posted double-digit scoring totals leading the 22nd-ranked Badgers to their second regular-season win.

The Badgers took control of the game in the first half and never let the Cougars within striking distance as Wisconsin maintained the lead throughout the entire game. Leuer came off the bench hot as he posted 12 points in only nine minutes of action in the first half, shooting 5-of-6 from the field and sinking both of his 3-point shot attempts. With just under a minute left in the first half, Landry connected on a layup giving the Badgers a 40-21 lead going into the break.

Wisconsin kept the heat on throughout the rest of the game as the Badgers were leading the Cougars by 32 points less than seven minutes into the second half. It was then that Leuer brought the Kohl Center crowd to its feet when he flushed a lob pass from Jordan Taylor on a perfect alley-oop. With seven minutes left in the game, Hughes sank a 3-pointer giving Wisconsin its largest lead of the game, 72-33. Senior Morris Cain notched four points for Wisconsin late in the game sealing the win for the Badgers, 88-58.

Wisconsin had a 21-to-10 assist to turnover ratio and pulled down 35 rebounds compared to SIU-Edwardsvilles 26. The Badgers out-shot the Cougars in the second half shooting 74.1 percent while SIUE shot only 40 percent. The Badger bench provided 40 points to the Cougars 19 en route to the Wisconsin win.

Up next, the Badgers will head to the Paradise Jam Tournament in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Wisconsin will travel to St. Thomas on Wednesday and see their first action vs. Iona on Friday, Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m. (Central). For all the action from Paradise stay tuned to UWBadgers.com.
