MADISON, Wis. -- As Bo Ryan enters his 13th season at the helm of Wisconsin basketball, he does so with a roster as young as any in his UW tenure. Opportunity knocks in 2013-14 for a team that also might be as deep as any Ryan has seen.

"There are a lot of question marks this year," Ryan said last week. "Will youth be served, or will the youth get served? I don't know, but I like this group. They're working hard and they want to be great. We'll have to wait and see."

You don't have to wait much longer. Your first chance to see the 2013-14 Badgers is this Saturday, Oct. 26, for the FREE annual Red/White Scrimmage, which is sponsored by the University Book Store.

Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. and must-see player introductions will begin at 5 p.m.

Saturday's Red/White Scrimmage will mark the return of junior guard Josh Gasser who missed all of the 2012-13 season with a knee injury. The Badgers' highly-touted six-man freshman class will also make its Kohl Center debut, including Wisconsin native Bronson Koenig and big men Nigel Hayes and Vitto Brown.

UW also returns a host of players poised to step into the spotlight vacated by last year's senior class. Sam Dekker, Ben Brust, Frank Kaminsky, Traevon Jackson and George Marshall all started games a year ago and will be major factors in the Badgers' 2013-14 rotation.

Wisconsin officially opens the season with an exhibition game against UW-Platteville on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the Kohl Center. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.

Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 8:30 a.m., fans may purchase single game tickets for home games at the Kohl Center. Ticket location and availability varies from game to game. Tickets will be allocated on a best available basis while supplies last.

Tickets will be sold online at UWBadgers.com, in person at the McGinnis Family Wisconsin Athletic Ticket Office, or by calling the Athletic Ticket Office at 1-800-GO-BADGERS or (608) 262-1440.
