MADISON, Wis. -- In exactly one week, the Badgers will begin preparations for the 2013-14 season with a journey north of the border to take on Canada's finest in a five-game, eight-day business trip.

Although seats on the team bus are at a premium, fans can follow some of the action from home for free via a live stream. UW's game against the University of Ottawa on Aug. 22 (6 p.m. CT), as well as the team's match-up with Ryerson University on Aug. 25 (7 p.m. CT), will be streamed live by the respective schools. UWBadgers.com will provide live coverage of each of the Badgers' five games.

With six newcomers in 2013-14, these games will provide a glimpse into the immediate future for Badgers fans, while also allowing the team to gain some experience and chemistry heading into the school year. The games will also be fans' first opportunity to see Josh Gasser in action. Gasser is projected to play a minimal role during the Canada trip as he continues to work his way back from an ACL injury that occurred last October.

UW's game against the University of Ottawa is its second contest of the trip after facing Carleton in the opener on Aug. 21. The Ottawa Gee Gees went 15-5 in 2012-13, finishing in a tie for second place in the East Division of the OUA. Ottawa averaged 83.2 points per game, and will return half of the one of the league's top scorers in fourth-year guard Johnny Berhanemeskel (18.9 ppg).

The Badgers then head to Toronto for three games, including the web streamed contest against Ryerson. The Ryerson Rams went 15-5 last season, finishing tied with Ottawa in the OUA, a year after advancing to the Wilson Cup Championship Game in 2012. Led by Canadian National team head coach Roy Rana, the Rams return a pair of OUA All-Stars in Aaron Best (15.3 ppg) and Jahmal Jones (15.4 ppg).
