MADISON, Wis. -- Badger fans can get a first look at three of the players that will join the Wisconsin men's basketball team next season in a nationally-televised all-star game this weekend.
Three of the Badgers' four signees for 2011-12 will take the court in the NeXt All-American Classic at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, Ill., on Sunday. The all-star game, featuring 24 of the nation's top high school players, will air live on CBS College Sports Network at 2 p.m. (CT).
Frank Kaminsky, a 6-foot-10 center from Lisle, Ill., will suit up for team Got Next. He'll go head-to-head with a pair of future UW teammates in 6-0 guard George Marshall of Chicago and 6-8 forward Jarrod Uthoff of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, both of whom will play for team Got Now.
Kaminsky starred for a Benet Academy team that boasted an undefeated regular season and No. 1 state ranking before falling to East Aurora in a sectional semifinal to close the season 29-1.
Marshall helped lead Brooks High School to the best season in program history, a campaign that saw the team earn its first-ever Chicago Public League title, finish third in the Illinois Class 3A state tournament and compile a 29-4 overall record.
Uthoff earned Iowa Mr. Basketball honors after averaging 26.2 points and 11.2 rebounds per game, leading Jefferson High School to a 17-6 record and the quarterfinals of the Class 4A state tournament.
Wisconsin's fourth signee for the fall is 6-2 guard Traevon Jackson of Westerville, Ohio. Jackson averaged 18.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game this season for Westerville South, as the team finished 24-2 and advanced to the Ohio Division I regional finals.
