MADISON, Wis. -- Fans heading to Kansas City for the second and third rounds of the 2013 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament are encouraged to join fellow Badgers for an NCAA Basketball Pep Rally.

The fun begins on Thursday, March 21, at 6:30 p.m. (CT) in the "KC Live!" courtyard in the Power & Light District in downtown Kansas City. The UW Spirit Squad, UW Band and Bucky Badger will be on hand to entertain those in attendance.

The Kansas City Power & Light District, located within walking distance from the Hilton President Hotel and the Sprint Center, offers Badger fans more than 50 unique shops, restaurants, bars and entertainment venues. For more information on the Kansas City Power & Light District, visit their website.

Following the Pep Rally, Badgers fans can take advantage of specials at McFadden's Sports Saloon and the Pizza Bar. They will offer Bucky Burger Baskets for $5 (includes a hamburger or cheeseburger with fries), and Pizza Bar will offer a Sconnie Special for $7 (includes a slice of pizza, salad and soda). Both locations will offer Miller Lite and Leinenkugel products. McFadden's and the Pizza Bar are located inside the KC Live! block of the Power & Light District across the street from Sprint Center.

Badgers fans are also reminded the team will conduct an open practice at the Sprint Center from 1:30-2:10 p.m. on Thursday. The open practice is free to attend. All fans are welcome.

Additionally, the Kansas City chapter of the Wisconsin Alumni Association will also host a "Watch Party" for those unable to secure tickets to Friday's game. The event will be held at the Kansas City chapter's regular game watch site, Lew's Grill & Bar, located at 7539 Wornall Road in Kansas City.

As the tournament progresses, additional fan events may be added throughout the weekend. Fans are encouraged to follow @uwbadgersdotcom or @BadgerMBB on Twitter to receive the latest updates.
