MADISON, Wis. -- The regular season is complete and the brackets are set... it's officially postseason time.
After finishing the regular season with a 23-7 record, 13-5 in the Big Ten, Wisconsin earned a No. 4 seed in the 2010 Big Ten Tournament. This is the second straight year the Badgers have earned a No. 4 seed, but they are hoping this year's stay will be a little longer than last year. Wisconsin has played in the championship game in four of the last six Big Ten tournaments, but exited with a quarterfinal loss to Ohio State last season.
This year, Wisconsin's tournament will get underway Friday at 1:30 p.m. (CT) against No. 5 seed Illinois on ESPN.
This is the 10th-straight season that UW has earned a first-round bye, the longest streak in the conference. In nine seasons under Bo Ryan, the Badgers have never finished lower than fourth in the conference standings. Ryan's teams are 10-6 in the conference tourney, including a pair of tournament championships in 2004 and 2008. UW is one of five teams (with ILL, IOWA, MSU & OSU) to win two Big Ten tournament titles. No school has won three championships.
