STAR OF THE GAME
With four Badgers in double figures this honor could go a few ways, but we'll go with junior Ben Brust for Star of the Game honors from UW's 71-49 win over No. 13 Ohio State. The junior guard jump-started Wisconsin's hot start by hitting three 3-pointers in the first six minutes en route to matching teammate Jared Berggren for a team-high 15 points. Brust also grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds and three assists, posting his fifth double-double of the season.
PLAY OF THE GAME
Speaking strictly in terms of the scoreboard, it didn't mean much in the context of a 22-point win, but Sunday's highlight reel certainly starts with Ryan Evans' high-flying, one-handed slam. At first, it looked like Evans might get an assist when he dished to a wide-open Sam Dekker on the wing. Dekker's look from 3-point range drew iron, though, and the shot ended up serving as the setup to Evans' acrobatics. Instead of pulling down the rebound, Evans reached back to catch the ball with his right hand and, in one smooth motion, threw down an emphatic one-handed dunk. The slam extended the Badgers' lead to 67-41 with 3:00 to play. See for yourself.
TURNING OF THE GAME
The Badgers and Buckeyes traded buckets early to a 6-6 draw three minutes in. It was all Wisconsin after that. UW would score the next 18 consecutive points and watch Ohio State miss 14 straight shots as the Badgers built a 24-6 lead. The margin would never get closer than 14 the rest of the way. Four Badgers scored during UW's definitive run, led by nine from Brust and five from Berggren.
STAT OF THE GAME
Wisconsin held Ohio State to just 49 points, its lowest scoring total in over a year. The Buckeyes have been held to 60 points or less in eight games in the past two seasons; UW is responsible for four of them.
