A.J. Van Handel enters his second season serving as a program assistant for men's basketball and his sixth with the program overall. Van Handel also spent four seasons as a team manager for the Badgers.

A native of Ashwaubenon, Wis., Van Handel earned his bachelor's degree in history and politcal science from Wisconsin in 2010. In addition to serving as a student assistant coach for two seasons at Ashwaubenon High School, Van Handel has worked the UW Boys Basketball Camps in each of the past five summers.
