With his relentless energy and athleticism, junior Zak Showalter carved out a vital role for himself on UW’s 2015 Final Four team and should see expanded responsibilities this season. The combo guard appeared in 35 games a year ago averaging 7.6 minutes per game off the bench. Showalter led UW by shooting 88.9 percent (24-27) from the free throw line and scored a career-high nine points in a win over Indiana, but left a lasting mark during the Badgers’ 2015 NCAA tournament run with clutch performances against Oregon and North Carolina.
