UW tips off the season in workman-like fashion with intense practice
High School: Named second-team all-state by the Associated Press as a senior after averaging 17.3 points, 5.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game ... missed six weeks of senior season with a hand injury, but returned in February to lead team to Chicago Public League Championship, hitting game-winner with 4 seconds left in semis and scoring game-high 23 points in finals ... earned 2010 honorable mention All-City and All-Area from the Chicago Sun-Times ... averaged 17 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds and 2 steals as a junior while leading Brooks to a 24-9 record ... as a sophomore, averaged 16 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds and 2 steals per game to lead Brooks to a Red South conference championship and a 24-7 record ... honored with 2009 All-City by the Chicago Public League Basketball Coaches Association, as well as all-conference and all-area honors ... in freshman season, averaged 15 points, 7 assists and 3 steals per game to earn all-conference honors ... a four-year starter ... head coaches were Chris Head and Erick Locke
