Entering his fifth year in the Wisconsin program, Jared Berggren has built himself into one of the premier big men in college basketball. Berggren started all 36 games for the Badgers in 2011-12 and posted career highs in every category. Possessing a versatile offensive game, Berggren has UW's best array of interior post-moves since Mike Wilkinson, but also has the ability to step outside and knock down shots, shooting 37 percent from 3-point range as a junior.
The Princeton, Minn., native has also demonstrated major improvement at the defensive end, posting 60 blocks in 2011-12 - the third-highest single-season total in UW history - and 32 steals. For a big man, Berggren possesses remarkable quickness, as he owns the school's post-player record for the 300-yard shuttle run (50.19 seconds), the team's agility drill (6.67 seconds) and the standing vertical jump (33 inches).
Berggren was a consensus second-team All-Big Ten selection in 2013
