After electing to redshirt as a freshman, George Marshall shared UW's point guard duties in his first year on the floor in 2012-13. Now entering his third year in the program, Marshall figures to again be a part of the Badgers' backcourt rotation after averaging 15.8 minutes per game a year ago. Soft-spoken and humble, Marshall shot 36.8% from 3-point range as a freshman (11th in the Big Ten) and showed his explosiveness with a career-high 20 points at Iowa. Perhaps the quickest player on the team, Marshall has the ability to penetrate the lane as well as knock down shots from beyond the 3-point arc.
Marshall joined Devin Harris as the only two UW freshmen to start the season opener under Bo Ryan.
