A fifth-year senior, Ryan Evans just might be the most-improved player in the Big Ten. After entering UW as a lightly-recruited prospect with raw athletic ability, Evans has developed into a versatile player in the center of the Badgers lineup. After averaging just 3.1 points per game through his first two seasons, Evans posted career-high numbers with 11.0 points, 6.8 rebounds and 33 blocks to earn All-Big Ten honorable mention last season.
Arguably the most athletic scorer on the team, Evans can play above the rim, but has also rebuilt his mid-range game. The Arizona native originally earned playing time for his work on the defensive end, drawing opponent's top scorers like Duke's Kyle Singler and Ohio State's Evan Turner as a freshman. In August of 2010, Evans averaged 9.2 points per game for a Global Sports Academy team that went 5-0 on a tour of Germany and Belgium.
Evans scored a career-high 22 points at Nebraska on Dec. 27, 2011.
