MADISON, Wis. -- Make sure you have your Badger gear ready for University of Wisconsin–Madison Day at the Wisconsin State Fair on Wednesday, Aug. 6.
Celebrate the spirit and tradition of UW–Madison with Bucky Badger, the UW Marching Band, students, faculty, and alumni. It’s a day of exploration, discovery, and fun at Central Park located within the fairgrounds.
Be sure to stop by the Wisconsin Athletics exhibit in Central Park. There, you’ll be able to test your athletic skills with our inflatable games or try on a football helmet and shoulder pads.
Pose for photos with Wisconsin’s recent trophies like the coveted Paul Bunyan axe, the 2013 NCAA Volleyball National Finalist trophy, the 2014 Big Ten Men’s Hockey Tournament Championship trophy, and the 2014 NCAA Basketball West Regional Championship trophy. Plus, Badger fans will be able to register to win a pair of Buckingham Club tickets for the Wisconsin football home-opener on September 6.
Plus, as part of the Badgers Give Back program, members of the 2014 Final Four Wisconsin men’s basketball team and 2013 NCAA National Finalist Wisconsin volleyball team are scheduled to appear from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Badger fans will be able to pose for photos and collect autographs from these student-athletes.
Show your UW–Madison pride by joining the pep rally at 1:30 p.m. and “jumping around” with the UW Spirit Squad and UW Marching Band.
UW-Madison Day at the Wisconsin State Fair also offers fair-goers hands-on scientific demonstrations, pictures with Bucky, live presentations, and games. All while showcasing everything that is great about UW-Madison.
Giving back to the community is one of the great traditions celebrated at the fair. You can help students in Milwaukee Public Schools by making a donation of new school supplies or cash to our volunteers at the gate. In appreciation for your donation, you’ll receive a $4 discount on adult admission tickets.
During UW–Madison Day at the Wisconsin State Fair in 2013, volunteers collected 125 55-gallon bags of school supplies along with $5,500 in cash donations. The supplies helped students at Oliver Wendell Holmes, Bruce, Morse Marshall and Congress Year Round elementary schools.
Join us at UW–Madison Day at the Wisconsin State Fair, Wednesday, Aug. 6, to help kids in need while celebrating all that is great about UW–Madison.
