AUSTIN, Texas -- Members of the Wisconsin men's swimming and diving team began competition at the 2014 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday, as juniors Nick Caldwell and Drew teDuits competed against the nation's top swimmers.
Caldwell, who recently set two school records at the Big Ten championships, raced to a prelims finish of 4:18.53 in the 500-yard freestyle. teDuits, defending NCAA champion in the 200-yard backstroke, swam in the 200-yard IM preliminaries but was disqualified.
The NCAA championships will continue on Friday, March 28 with preliminaries beginning at 11 a.m. C.T. and finals set for 7 p.m.
