200-yard medley relay paces Badgers at NCAA championships

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- One day after setting a new Big Ten mark in the 200-yard freestyle relay, two more Wisconsin women's relay quartets set out to leave their mark at the 2014 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships.

Swimming in the 200-yard medley relay B final, sophomores Annie Tamblyn and Anna Meinholz teamed up with senior Rebecka Palm and junior Ivy Martin for a 13th-place finish. The relay squad's time of 1:37.53 earned the Badgers eight team points, finishing less than two seconds shy of a school record.

Palm, Martin and Tamblyn also joined junior Aja Van Hout in the 800-yard freestyle relay, where the quartet raced to a time of 7:11.90.

At the end of the second day's competition, Wisconsin is in 13th place with 49 points. 

The NCAA championships will conclude Saturday, March 22 with prelims beginning at 11 a.m. (CT). Finals are slated to start at 7 p.m. with the 1650-yard freestyle event.
