MADISON, Wis. - What's not to love? That was the general reaction from Badger fans upon hearing that USA Today recently named Madison, Wis., "America's Best College Football Town."
The gameday atmosphere at Camp Randall Stadium, with long-standing traditions like the "5th Quarter" and "Jump Around" make the experience inside the stadium second-to-none. Add to that a team that has compiled a 53-4 home record since 2004 and owns the nation's second-longest current home winning streak (19 games) and you get an atmosphere that is unbeatable.
"When the anthem 'Jump Around' is played between the 3rd and 4th quarters at Camp Randall, this family comes together to form one of college football's loudest, warmest stadium-rattling traditions," USA Today says in its story announcing the selection.
The city of Madison, with its natural beauty, has plenty to offer both home and visiting fans. Much of campus sits on the shores of Lake Mendota and Camp Randall Stadium itself is nestled among the houses on the east side of campus.
"The surrounding neighborhoods give game day a cozy feeling, and each Badger home game feels more like a family reunion," boasts USA Today.
