Seating Adjustment Plan

Adjustments will be made to annual fund seating contributions prior to the 2011 football and 2011- 12 men's basketball seasons. Annual contributions provide priority for the opportunity to order season tickets. Please see below maps for seating priority.

1. Why is this adjustment to the annual fund program being made?

We rely heavily on the collective support and generosity of season ticket holders and donors. In order to recruit quality student-athletes, attract and retain high caliber head coaches, and grow our 23 sports programs, financial support is necessary. Annual fund gifts will be used to cover rising scholarship costs and to renovating/build the facilities needed to remain competitive in the Big Ten and nationally.

2. How do Wisconsin's contribution levels compare among its peers?

The majority of peer institutions in the Big Ten and across the nation provide ticket and parking priority to donors based on annual contributions. For those universities with similar programs, Wisconsin's is among the lowest in the Big Ten despite having more athletic success than many other Big Ten institutions. Additionally, annual contributions have not changed in Camp Randall Stadium since 2001 or in the Kohl Center since the building opened in 1998. Even with the 2011-12 adjustment, Wisconsin's contribution levels still rank below its peers in the Big Ten and nationally.

3. Is this adjustment a "reseating" of Camp Randall Stadium or the Kohl Center?

No, this adjustment is not a "reseating" model in which season ticket holders re-select their seat location based on giving. A number of institutions in the Big Ten and across the nation reseat their athletic facilities annually or periodically, which is a much more aggressive model than Wisconsin's.

4. Do other Universities make periodic adjustments to their seating programs?

Yes, every school in the Big Ten - with the exception of Northwestern and Wisconsin - has either adjusted its seating programs or initiated a re-seating of their football and/or basketball facilities within the last five years.

5. As a season ticket holder, will I continue to have the opportunity to order season tickets?

All current season ticket holders will continue to have the opportunity to order season tickets. Season ticket holders also have the opportunity to request a seat change or improvement on an annual basis. However, there are no guarantees.

6. When will this adjustment go into effect?

The annual fund priority seating changes will go into effect beginning with the 2011 football season and the 2011-12 men's basketball season. The overall annual fund program will continue to be reviewed and adjusted periodically.

7. Will the seating adjustments be reflected on my personalized 2011 annual fund contribution form?

All season ticket holders will have the opportunity to make contributions and will receive a personalized annual fund contribution form in addition to a season ticket order application.

8. Are annual contributions tax deductable?

All contributions are considered gifts to the University of Wisconsin and are credited at full value for purposes of the donor's gift record at the University of Wisconsin Foundation. A contribution that entitles the donor to purchase tickets is 80 percent deductible for income tax purposes, according to IRS Code, Section 170(l). Consult your tax advisor for more information.

9. Do total annual contributions make me eligible for additional benefits?

Yes, all contributions made to Wisconsin Athletics apply toward a donor's annual giving level, making them eligible for a variety of benefits including season parking, single-game tickets, post- season tickets, and invitations to exclusive donor events.

10. Will football and/or men's basketball season ticket prices increase?

There will be no increase to the football and/ or men's basketball season ticket cost (on a per game basis) for the 2011-12 seasons. Ticket prices and contribution levels are reviewed periodically.

11. When are annual fund contributions due?

Annual fund contributions must be received by April 30 or patrons may be subject to loss of season tickets.

12. Are tickets transferrable?

Season tickets may be transferred to children of the season ticket holder on record.
