Badgers have increased win total in each of his first three seasons at UW
MADISON, Wis. -- Wisconsin head men's tennis coach Danny Westerman announced Thursday that Scoville Jenkins has been promoted to associate head coach. A former professional tennis player and six-year coaching veteran, Jenkins is entering his fourth season on the UW staff.
"Scoville richly deserves this promotion and he is a vital piece of our program," Westerman said. "From recruiting to player development and beyond, he has been one of the major reasons for our recent success. He is one of the most respected assistants in all of collegiate tennis and we're proud to have him on our staff."
Jenkins has helped the Badgers increase their win total in each of his first three seasons in Madison. From year one to year two, Wisconsin doubled its win total from seven to 14, before going 18-8 and advancing to the second round of the NCAA tournament in year three.
"Scoville has been performing head coaching responsibilities for a while now and I love working alongside him on a daily basis. Together, we are very excited where we can take Wisconsin tennis."
A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Jenkins joined the Wisconsin tennis staff in 2014 following coaching stints at Kennesaw State and Washington.
A six-year playing professional, Jenkins has played in all the Grand Slams including Main Draw Singles appearances in both the U.S. Open and French Open. He has played some of the all-time greats, including Andy Roddick, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer – all at Arthur Ashe Stadium at the U.S. Open.
