MADISON, Wis.— Chloe Miller continues to make Wisconsin softball history, becoming the program's first NFCA All-American. Miller earned a place on the third team, as announced by the organization on Wednesday.
The Bettendorf, Iowa, native capped her career with an incredible senior campaign, leading the team and conference with a .426 batting average, the best single-season average in UW history. Additionally, she led the team in hits (66), runs (53), home runs (11), slugging percentage (.794), on base percentage (.545) and doubles (18). She went on a 14-game hitting streak from Feb. 25- March 25, smashing 28 hits in the program's third-longest hitting streak.
She was named to the All-Big Ten second team, the NFCA All-Great Lakes Region second team and the NCAA Tournament All-Region Team during her senior season. Miller became the program's second NFCA National Player of the Week and the second National Pro Fastpitch league draftee, as well as becoming the program's first-ever finalist for the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year.
Miller finishes her time as a Badger atop the Wisconsin career records in several categories with 53 multi-RBI games, 181 RBI, 31 home runs, 145 runs. She also ranks second all-time with 215 career hits and 57 career multi-hit games.
Excelling off the diamond as well, Miller, a kinesiology major, earned her second Academic All-Big Ten honor this week.
