MADISON, Wis. – The 12th-ranked Wisconsin men's rowing team made use of a warm Saturday morning to sweep Minnesota and MSOE in racing on Lake Mendota as a supplement to UW's top three boats, which took part in the Stanford Invitational in California.

The Badgers were perfect on the day, sweeping all 10 races.

The top time of the day was rowed by UW's fourth varsity eight. Racing against Minnesota and MSOE's varsity eight, the Badgers took six minutes and 11.6 seconds to reach the 2000-meters finish line just past Memorial Union to win by just under 12 seconds over Minnesota.

UW's freshman eight clocked 6:12.9 in its race to finish with the second-fastest time of the day. The Badgers won the freshman eight race by just under nine seconds over second-place Minnesota.

The day started out with a UW victory in the lightweight varsity four, then continued with wins in the varsity four and varsity four B events. After the freshman eight victory, UW claimed wins in the freshman eight B, the varsity eight, second varsity eight and a trio of freshman four races.

Wisconsin is scheduled for instrasquad racing next Saturday, April 22 at Devil's Lake, then head east to Boston to compete for the Cochrane Cup (MIT), Jablonic Cup (Boston University) and the Congram Cup (Northeastern) on April 30.
