Wisconsin Badgers and Jack Link's protein snacks partner to fuel elite athletic performance

Jack Link's LogoMadison, Wis. – Protein is a crucial part of a high-performance diet, especially for athletes who are aiming for best-in-class status. Jack Link's jerky is a complete protein, which is essential in preserving and building muscle and supporting performance goals. To give its home state Badgers a complete protein boost, Jack Link's is joining forces with the University of Wisconsin-Madison Athletic Department to create a first of its kind dedicated nutrition and protein performance center on campus, set to open in January of 2018.

The new nutrition and protein performance center will be located inside Wisconsin's Stephen M. Bennett Student-Athlete Performance Center. There will also be two Jack Link's grab-and-go refueling stations at Camp Randall Stadium and the Kohl Center, allowing student-athletes to power up 24-7, whether on they're way to class, recovering from a workout or just needing a pick-me-up between meals.

"I am very pleased that we are entering into this relationship with Jack Link's and continuing to take great care of our student-athletes," said Barry Alvarez, University of Wisconsin Athletic Director. "We are grateful to Jack Link's for its generosity and commitment to improving Badger athletics through the foundational elements of proper diet and nutrition."

"Jack Link's has been proudly family-owned and based in Wisconsin since we started over 30 years ago. Today, we're more than a jerky company, we're a global leader in protein. This growth comes from our efforts to bring our protein-packed products to new consumers, including student athletes," said Troy Link, CEO of Jack Link's. "We're excited to begin this new initiative in our home-state, and we look forward to seeing these athletes fuel their performance, and feeding their wild sides, with Jack Link's Protein Snacks."

To share this exciting partnership with students, Wisconsin will host an on-field recognition of the Link family. The announcement will take place during the Badger homecoming football game against the Maryland Terrapins on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 11:00 a.m.
