Wellhausen previews UW's first series of 2017
Hello Again Badger Fans!
We hope you all had a wonderful holiday and ate as many holiday cookies as possible!
The new year has begun and the Badgers are back in action. After a couple of hard days of practices and workouts, the Cardinal and White are ready to hit the ice again for gameday.
The Badgers are to take on the Lindenwood Lady Lions in a two-game series this weekend.
Freshman goaltender Nikki Cece shared her thoughts on the Badgers' break and upcoming series.
"It felt good to have a little time off," she said. "But I think everyone on the team is excited to be back and hoping to start the new year off with two strong games against Lindenwood."
The Badgers will be missing forwards Emily Clark and Sarah Nurse, as they are showcasing their phenomenal skills in the Nations Cup for Team Canada. Best of luck to Nursey and Clarky! We miss you both.
I would also like to give a shoutout to the Team USA World Junior team and their captain Luke Kunin, a fellow Badger, on capturing gold in an intense shootout win against Canada. The girls all watched last night and I think we still are having trouble catching our breath from cheering so hard!
With all this said, the Badgers are happy to be back in business. If you cannot make it to the games, you can follow us online via UWBadgers.com or our Twitter feed @BadgerWHockey! Tonight's game begins at 7:00 p.m. and tomorrow's match-up is at 3:00 p.m.
We cannot wait to see you all again--simply the best fans in college hockey. We're at home the next three weekends and host an outdoor skate on Sunday when we get back from Missouri!
