TEAM NOTES
• Wisconsin won its 17th-consecutive home game, a streak that dates back to Jan. 17, 2016, and is the seventh-longest active run in the nation.
• The Badgers won their fifth-consecutive game vs. Michigan and for the 17th time in their last 19 meetings with the Wolverines.
• Wisconsin has won 13 of its last 14 home games vs. Michigan and is 13-2 (.867) all-time vs. the Wolverines at the Kohl Center.
• Greg Gard won his 30th game as UW's head coach, improving to 30-11 (.732) and extending the best start by a UW coach in the last 100 years.
• Wisconsin improved to 15-0 this season and 30-0 under Gard when leading or tied with 5:00 remaining in a game. Dating back to February 2011, UW is 152-5 (.968) when leading or tied with 5:00 to go. Tonight's game was tied at 49-49 with 5:00 to play.
• Wisconsin limited Michigan to 64 points and is holding opponents to a Big Ten-best 63.2 points per game in conference play.
• The Badgers connected on 12 of their last 16 shots (over the final 11:55) after opening the second half 1-for-8 from the floor.
• Wisconsin collected 82.8% of available rebounds on the defensive glass to improve its Big Ten-leading defensive rebounding percentage on the season to 77.6%. The Badgers entered the game ranked No. 5 nationally at 77.3%.
• UW outscored Michigan in the paint, 32-16. The Badgers have outscored 15 of their 18 opponents in the paint, by an average margin of 11.7 points per game.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
• Senior Bronson Koenig scored a team-high 16 points, including 10 straight during a stretch of UW's 15-0 run to take the lead for good in the second half. Koenig went 3-for-5 from 3-point range and is shooting 61.5% (16 of 26) from beyond the arc in Big Ten play.
• Koenig is now tied with Kirk Penney (2000-03) for third all-time at UW with 217 made 3-pointers.
• Senior Nigel Hayes scored 13 points for his fifth consecutive double-digit scoring game and also pulled down 6 rebounds.
• Hayes matched Mike Bruesewitz (2010-13) for 10th all-time at UW by playing in the 131st game of his career.
• Senior Vitto Brown scored 13 points, his third-highest total of the season, and grabbed 3 rebounds.
