Badgers return to action on Oct. 14 with the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational
MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Mick Byrne announced Thursday that the UW men's and women's cross country teams will not compete at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational on Friday.
"Due to illness on both teams, it is not in our best interest to travel this weekend," Byrne said. "As we close out September, competing this weekend would do more harm than good.
"The health and wellness of our student-athletes is our top priority."
The Badgers return to action on Oct. 14 with the 2016 Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational Presented by Under Armour at the Zimmer Championship Course. The meet features 18 of the ranked 30 women's teams in the latest U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association National Coaches' Poll and 21 of the ranked men's teams.
