MADISON, Wis. – A total of 23 regular-season games for the Wisconsin men's hockey team will air on television during the 2016-17 season, the Big Ten and BTN announced on Monday.
The Badgers will have nine games on Fox Sports Wisconsin or FS Wisconsin alternate, as well as five contests on BTN, five on Wisconsin Public Television's Wisconsin Channel, two games on ASN and one each on ESPNU and ESPNEWS.
In addition to the television broadcasts, each of the televised games will also air online via BTN2Go and the BTN2Go mobile app. Viewers must login with their home cable or satellite account to watch the free online streams. The two ESPN contests will be available online at WatchESPN and the WatchESPN app.
Wisconsin's television schedule begins with its home-opening series against Boston College on Oct. 14 and 16. The Friday game, which begins at 7 p.m. CT, airs live on FS Wisconsin, while Sunday's contest will begin at 3 p.m. and air on ESPNU.
Wisconsin Public Television begins its first of five broadcasts on Friday, Nov. 18 for UW's 7 p.m. game against Merrimack. All five of Wisconsin Public Television's broadcasts will air on the Wisconsin Channel.
Robb Vogel will call the games for Wisconsin Public Television, while Brad Winchester, Ron Vincent and Theran Welsh are expected to share the analyst duties.
The Saturday, Nov. 19 game against the Warriors will air on FS Wisconsin.
ASN joins the schedule on Friday, Dec. 2, for UW's game against Omaha at the Kohl Center. Airing at 7:30 p.m., what local stations fans can view the game will be announced closer to game day. Wisconsin Channel airs the Saturday, Dec. 3, contest against Omaha at a time to be determined, depending on the game time for Badger men's basketball earlier that day at the Kohl Center against Oklahoma.
The Omaha broadcasts begin UW's 22-game, regular-season closing stretch that includes 19 games on television.
The Badgers' first televised road contest of the season will take place on Friday, Dec. 9, at 6:30 p.m., when UW's game at Michigan airs on ESPNEWS.
Wisconsin's first BTN broadcast takes place Friday, Jan. 6, with its game at the Kohl Center against Michigan State, set for 8 p.m. The Saturday, Jan. 7, contest against MSU will also air on BTN, but at 7 p.m.
