Freshman F Dani Rhodes
On stepping up as a freshman:
"It's been nice, I love the girls and I love playing. It's definitely a different level, you know. On the field there are no age groups, you all play as a team and you have the same role as everyone else, so you have to step up into your position."
Â
On controlling Drake's offense:
"I think we played pretty good, defensively. We were constantly on offense, I think that helped, we didn't really let them cross the half field. We maintained it in our attacking half. We knocked it around the back and were able to go forward. They didn't really have many chances."
Â
On the takeaways from this game:
"I think we can learn a lot. I think its hard to have two overtime games back-to-back on the weekend, but at the end of the day we have to have our effort there and when it comes down to the final minutes we have to finish and we have to execute on certain plays because it's not going to be easy. But we definitely should have won that game."
Â
On upcoming Stanford and Santa Clara:
"I think we're going to change a lot of things. I think the effort and the mindset, but also just the way we play and the way we're attacking. We're hopefully going to finish our shots and we're going to need to do that out there because the competition is way different."

Head coach Paula Wilkins
On the difficulty scoring despite many chances:
"I think it's a combination of two things. I think it was that they're pretty good defending, they're good in the box. They've only given up one goal all season, credit to them. They've even played Minnesota, who didn't score on them. And I think the other part is our execution isn't very good. I think that we, being a little bit young and inexperienced up front, I think that we're taking chances. We can take another pass or we can do another thing, and we're not really prepared to shoot. I think thats part of the evolution of our front group, the attacking group."
Â
On slowing down Drake's offense:
"They didn't get as many numbers forward, I think that's one of the big things. They were looking to counter-attack on us, so they didn't attack with that many numbers. We were able to win the first ball coming out and controlling it that way."
Â
On the takeaways:
"What I told the team is that, the biggest thing is we need to find a way to win. If we get this many shots and that many opportunities and corner kicks, we need to find a way to do that and we need to find out who the answer for that is going to be.
Â
"I think we have to go back to the drawing board and look at personnel and see what other people can add to our team."
Â
On upcoming Stanford and Santa Clara:
"It's going to be playing two completely different teams. We're playing two teams that are going to be in the Top 25, one being the number one team in the country. So I think we've got to make sure that we're more unified as a team defensively. I think we played two completely different teams this weekend, and we'll face two different oppositions next weekend. It's going to be interesting and a good learning experience."
