Segall joins men’s hockey staff as director of operations

UMass Amherst alum brings NHL, international experience to Madison
MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin men's hockey head coach Tony Granato has hired Noah Segall to fill the opening as the Director of Hockey Operations, rounding out the staff for the 2016-17 season.
Segall comes to Wisconsin after spending the past season with the University of Vermont men's hockey team as its Director of Hockey Operations, and is a rising young talent in the field with experience internationally and in the NHL.
Segall spent two years as the strength and conditioning analyst for the San Jose Sharks from 2012-14, and served as the video coach for the Russian Women's National team that won the bronze medal at the 2015 IIHF Women's U-18 World Championship.
His ties to Russia and the NHL are not limited to the 2015 stint with the Russian Women's National Team, as Segall also works as a coach at the at the Pavel Datsyuk Hockey School in Russia.
A 2014 graduate of UMass Amherst, Segall double majored in sport management and economics, and was named the Mark H. McCormack Department of Sport Management Top Senior.
Segall landed a Division I director of hockey ops position in his first year out of school, serving as the operations director for Atlantic Hockey member Canisius College during the 2014-15 season.
In his positions with Vermont and Canisius, Segall handled team travel along with video coordinator duties, which included scouting upcoming opponents and analytical breakdown of the team's games. Segall's role with Vermont this past season saw him have a more expanded, administrative role.
Segall will fill a similar role as the director of ops with UW.
