Home and road races this week for the Badgers

Minnesota and MSOE come to Madison while the Badgers head to Stanford Invite
MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men's rowing team opened its 2016 season with a neutral match against Syracuse on Saturday, April 9. Although the team won two out of three races, the Badgers are far from where they want to be.
However, it's a process and it takes time to settle in and determine lineups and the next step in that process will take place this weekend when the Badgers divide their squads between a pair of races.
The first group will remain here in Madison to take on Minnesota and Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) on Saturday, April 16.
Saturday's race is set to begin at 9 a.m. (CT) on Lake Mendota but could move based on weather conditions. A north or northwest wind will push the race to a 10 a.m. start at Governor Nelson State Park while a northeast wind means a 10 a.m. start at Tenney Park.
In addition, the Badgers will be sending a team to Redwood Shores in California, to partake in the Stanford Invite which runs Saturday and Sunday, April 16-17.
The Badgers will open against California with the varsity eight starting at 9:10 a.m. locally on Saturday, second varsity eight at 10 a.m. and third varsity eight at 10:40 a.m. Following California, Wisconsin will take on Oregon State beginning with varsity eight at 2 p.m., second varsity eight at 3:10 p.m. and third varsity eight at 3:40 p.m.
UW will round out the invite on Sunday as they look to knock off host Stanford. The second varsity eight crew will hit the water at 8:50 a.m., varsity eight at 9:40 a.m. and third varsity eight at 10:50 a.m.
Times are subject to change.  Â
