Good Morning Badger Fans!
Last weekend the Badgers took on the St. Cloud State Huskies, capturing two victories to end the weekend with a sweep. Saturday's game resulted in a 3-0 win, thanks to goals from SamCogan,
Sarah Nurse, and
Emily Clark. On Sunday the Badgers tallied the same score with a goal by
Sarah Nurse and two snipes by
Emily Clark.
Ann-Renee Desbiens earned her fifth WCHA Defensive Player of the Week honors with her remarkable shutouts, furthermore earning herself the WCHA Defensive Player of the Month title for the entire month of January. Congrats Ann-Renee!!
This week the Badgers have been preparing for a battle against the Ohio State Buckeyes in a two game series taking place
Friday night at 6:07 pm and
Saturday at 3:07 pm Wisconsin time.
I asked senior defenseman,
Kim Drake, to reflect on the team's performance last weekend, as well as her expectations for this weekend against Ohio State.
"I thought last weekend was a good series, and we improved on the things we worked on in practice. It was important to get shots to the net, get pucks deep, and compete at a high level. We know the latter half of the season becomes more difficult and anybody can give you their best game," she noted. "With that being said, it's important we carry strong habits through the rest of the season in order to be successful. This weekend will be another challenge and an opportunity to keep improving."
Keep up to date on our games this weekend via the Badger Women's Hockey Twitter feed (
@BadgerWHockey), or the game recaps on our website! Once again, thank you for your support throughout this season. You all are truly the best fans in hockey!
On Wisconsin!
