Badger Brain Breaks: Pump Up the Jam

Dance into the school year with Wisconsin student-athletes and Bucky

MADISON, Wis. – It's time to take a Badger Brain Break and dance!

Check out November's Badger Brain Breaks featuring the song "Pump Up the Jam" with some sweet dance moves from Bucky and UW student-athletes.

WiscFit is part of Badgers Give Back's health and wellness programming with the objective to promote a healthy, active lifestyle for Wisconsin kids. A key component of the WiscFit program is Badger Brain Breaks -- short dance-a-long videos featuring Wisconsin student-athletes and their iconic mascot, Bucky Badger.

Wisconsin Athletics created Badger Brain Breaks for parents, guardians, and teachers to use at home or in the classroom as a tool to promote an active lifestyle, break up periods of inactivity throughout the day, and improve overall learning.

The CDC's Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans recommends that children get 60 minutes or more of physical activity each day in order to grow up to be healthy and strong. Research also tells us that active kids are better learners. Physical activity helps kids focus better, and learn more in and out of the classroom.

By incorporating popular songs and new dance moves, Badger Brain Breaks make it easy to get kids up and moving, stimulate their brains and help them learn better!

One FREE Badger Brain Break video will be released per month for the duration of the school year and can found at www.uwbadgers.com/WiscFit.
