Opening Statement
"First of all, I'm happy for our guys with how they handled the trip back (from Hawaii for the Maui Invitational). I thought we learned a lot in Maui, culturally it was very good for us and then also basketball-wise. I mentioned after that North Carolina game I thought we were better. We learned some things about ourselves of who we are and who we cannot be. But this is not an easy thing for them. We've had teams come off trips like this and really be in a fog, and I thought they were in a fog a little bit yesterday, but better today. We were pretty efficient in doing what we asked in trying to concentrate on stuff. I'm happy for our guys to be able to bounce back and take care of business here. We know that the level of competition will escalate immensely in the next 48 hours, but I'm proud of how they played, how hard they played, how well they played together and really were very efficient taking advantage of what we wanted them to do."
On Nigel Hayes attacking the rim:
"I thought we made good decisions in terms of when to throw it in, maybe when not to throw it in, for the most part. But there was an effort, and there always has been, to try and play inside-out and touch the post and get to the free-throw line more, which we need to do a lot more of. So, this is an example of how efficient he can be and how efficient we can be when we don't settle for jump shots at times, don't settle for early 3s and really try to attack the paint. We've got bodies and we've got depth and they're starting to figure out the chemistry of playing with each other in terms of the passing and the spacing and most things. (I'm) Very happy for Nigel to be able to perform like that and that's an efficient line when you go 5-for-5 (from the field), 7-for-8 (from the free-throw line) and get 17 points in 19 minutes. That's who he can be when he really locks into that type of mode."
Senior Guard Zak Showalter
On getting back on track after a loss:
"I think it's good to have a bounce-back game. Obviously, we have a bitter taste in our mouth after any loss. To be able to get back out on the court early, we like playing games more than practicing, so we're fine with it. It's good to get back out and kind of get in a rhythm and hopefully get ready for Tuesday now."Â

On shooting:
"Shooting is a lot easier after finally making one, so I just wanted to see the ball go through the rim and get my confidence back up a little bit."
On offensive efficiency:
"I think coach said that at halftime, just keep playing efficient basketball like we did in the first half. Just taking care of the ball – we're still working there and have a long way to go – but we got a lot of better shots, some easy ones around the rim, finish with contact and when we can do that we're playing our best basketball."
Senior Forward Nigel HayesÂ
On preparing for Syracuse:
"I'll try to do the best I can to look at my matchup. There's no surprises with the defense they play, so that's not really our concern. It's more about what their players on offense can do."
Sophomore Guard Khalil Iverson
On working the low post:
"After we get the ball in the post to Nigel or Ethan (Happ), or anyone really, usually we have someone rim-run. It just opens up the floor and then they find guys and make it easier for us."
Â
On contributing off the bench:
"That's just what I try to do. Whenever I get called upon, I just go in and try to do my job and then go sit back down."
