Team Notes
  • The Badgers fall at home in three sets for the first time since Sept. 24, 2014, when they lost to No. 3 Penn State.
  • Minnesota hit an opponent season-high .329 percent (61 kills – 14 errors – 143 attempts), the first team to hit better than .300 against the Badgers this year.
  • The Golden Gophers out blocked Wisconsin 14 – 3, the largest blocking advantage (plus 11) by an opponent this season.
  • Minnesota was also the first team to out dig Wisconsin this season, finishing with a 37-33 edge.
  • The Golden Gophers pick up 20 points in the 2016-17 Border Battle. Wisconsin leads this year's challenge 40-20.
  • Minnesota snapped the Badgers' 18-match Big Ten winning streak, a match started after Wisconsin fell to the Golden Gophers on Oct. 17, 2015. The Gophers also handed UW its first home loss of the season and its first home loss after 14 straight wins.
  • Wisconsin falls to 7-2 against AVCA top-25 teams this season.
  • The Badgers had their fourth sell out of the season with 6,012 fans. UW is averaging a school record 5,942 fans per match this year.
