Wisconsin vs. Indiana
Head Coach Greg Gard

Opening statement:
"Extremely proud of our guys, how they persevered, gutted it out when it wasn't the prettiest of fashion. You turn the ball over 16 times, that's not a recipe for success. But they kept fighting away and they kept battling. Every media timeout we kept trying to inch forward and push forward. At one point I think we were turning it over at about a 50-percent clip in the second half, six turnovers in the first 12 possessions, which is not what you want to do. To be able to continue to gut it out and persevere and get stops at key times and get to the free throw line 37 times. Obviously the play of Nigel (Hayes) and Ethan (Happ) when we had (Zak) Showalter in foul trouble, and Bronson (Koenig) struggled from the floor. Jordan Hill and Aaron Moesch off the bench really gave us a boost. That's what's so neat about this team is they've come together and the chemistry and the culture in the locker room has grown tighter and tighter over the last five weeks. I don't know if we'd be in a position to be able to pull something like this out six, eight weeks ago. The cohesiveness and the togetherness and how these guys are growing together is something that makes me extremely proud and proud to be their coach."

On how the team was able to finish down the stretch:
"I think two things. One, we played better the 69 or 70 possessions before the final possession. We've gotten better in that regard in some instances, not everywhere, but we've improved in that area. The other thing, I think the more important thing, the chemistry. This group is growing together. We've had so many new guys that have had to step into roles this year, whether they're new freshman on campus or returning players that have changed roles. That takes a while for that cohesiveness to come together. I think now they believe in what we're doing. I've always used the analogy of two feet in the boat and grab your oar. I had 17 guys tonight with two feet in the boat and two hands on their oar and everybody on that bench in the timeouts did a terrific job of changing some things we went through and adjusting. I'm just proud of those guys because of how they've rallied, continued to grow and develop together."

On Nigel Hayes' defensive play on Yogi Ferrell during the last possession of regulation:
"We talked about in the timeout that we were going to get Nigel matched with him (Ferrell), so if they were going to ball screen a bigger guy we had changed our defensive assignment instead of having Ethan (Happ) on him. Yogi did a really terrific job of shot-faking there on the baseline and got Nigel up in the air, but he (Hayes) didn't take the bait enough to be able to fall on him (Ferrell) and forced that tough shot to be able to get into overtime. Two really good players in this league going at it. I'm sure the fans enjoyed it. That's two pretty good ones going at each other."

Indiana Head Coach Tom Crean
Opening Statement:

"All things considered, I'm proud of the way our team battled and we knew it would be a battle coming into here. At the end of the first half, the way we got back and closed it in regulation and kept fighting, we certainly made mistakes and turned the ball over too many times. But we continued to be in the game and all things considered I'm proud of them, but at the same time there was too many mistakes for us to win the game. When you're on the road you've got to really be able to put it away. Certainly, the 19 free throw differential is a head scratcher and we've got to continue to look at how we create more contact. I guess that's what I was told Yogi was doing. He was creating the contact, which is why he wasn't getting to the line, but I have to watch the film and see what we can learn to do better with getting fouled more. But we did some very good things, we did some things that were beneficial, but we also did some costly things. It was a great game in the sense that they have an excellent team and Greg (Gard) is doing great things with that staff. Bo (Ryan)'s team always got better and I don't think there's any difference with Greg, they just get better. Our team is getting better too. I think they can get a lot better and I think they will and learn from this and get ready to play Minnesota on Saturday."

On changes from last time they played Wisconsin:
"They're real committed to going inside, there's no question about that. I've got to watch the film, but we knew when they're winning they're shooting 29 free throws and when they're losing they're shooting 13 or 14 free throws. I have to watch the film on that, but to answer your question I think they're really on and making a concerted effort to go inside a lot. But again, the thing that is so good for them is that Hayes is such a good passer and he can really pass out of that block and that's why you have to stay connected to the bottom. There were a couple of times in the first half that we didn't do a good job of that and Happ got loose. They know it's either going to be a pass or a shot there, so they're real active there and on the offensive glass. But they're definitely committed to that post up and they're definitely committed to the isolation and things of that nature to win the game at the foul line."
