Hi Badger Fans!Â
Â
I apologize that it's taken me yet another century to post a blog. With the Thanksgiving holiday spirit in the air, my mind was focused on spending time with relatives and friends, as I am sure all of you did as well.Â
Â
After a morning Thanksgiving practice, the Badgers all went their separate ways to celebrate the holiday. Many players cooked dinner with their families who traveled to Madison for the weekend, while some of the Wisconsinites traveled back home, and the rest of the team enjoyed a tasty meal at Samba restaurant downtown.
Â
I was fortunate enough to be able to go back to my hometown to spend the night with my family, bringing along my teammate,
Molly Doner, who was unable to see her family. Nothing like a home cooked meal shared with family to remind you of everything you are grateful for!Â
Â
In honor of the holiday, I asked sophomore defenseman
Maddie Rolfes to share her favorite Thanksgiving memory:Â
Â
"My favorite memory of thanksgiving is spending year after year on the road," Rolfes said. "Eating at places from the Cracker Barrel to Perkins for thanksgiving dinner with my boy's team were always enjoyable."
Â
Road trips always make for the best memories!Â
Â
The Badgers had a quick turnaround after their feasts, preparing to take on Dartmouth Friday and Saturday. The games were both hard fought battles, yet the Cardinal and White persevered, sweeping Dartmouth in 4-1 and 4-0 victories. Highlights included
Sarah Nurse sniping two goals in Saturday's game, helping the Badgers to their 16th win of the season.Â
Â
On behalf of the team, I'd like to wish all of you a happy belated Thanksgiving. We are all extremely grateful for your unwavering support for our team! Thank you for making playing for this college and city so awesome.Â
Â
On Wisconsin!Â
