UW sophomore Baylee Wellhausen previews UW's upcoming series

Hi Badger fans!

I hope you are all having a wonderful week and staying warm in this chilly Midwestern weather!

The Badgers are coming back from a weekend sweep against Bemidji State in 3-0 and 4-0 wins. Ann-Renee Desbiens earned two consecutive shutouts, giving her the title of WCHA Defensive Player of the Week. Congratulations to Anne! In total, this marks six consecutive shutouts for the Badgers this season, tying the all-time record in the WCHA.

Erika Sowchuk tallied two goals in Saturday's game, making her presence known at LaBahn. Yet again, the scoring for the Badgers was widely spread across the board--seven goals by six different people.

I asked Erika to reflect on the team's performance. "We've been seeing all four lines producing and I think that's great and speaks measures for how deep our team is this year."

As for her beliefs about this upcoming weekend against Minnesota State, Sowchuk states, "We need to keep up the momentum from our recent sweep and keep improving every game. If we do that we will be successful." I couldn't have said it better myself, Sow!

Forwards Emily Clark and Sarah Nurse will be missing this weekend due to their participation in the 2015 Four Nations Cup, wearing the red and white for their home country of Canada. We wish them the best of luck!

Today, the Badgers arrived in the lovely town of Mankato, ready to take on the Mavericks in a two game series. Puck will drop at 2:07 on both Friday and Saturday. On Wisconsin!
