A furious second-halfcomeback ' including big plays on special teams, a turnover from the defense and a balanced offense ' contributed to the University of Wisconsin football team's 21-20 victory over UCLA in the 2000 Sun Bowl.
After falling behind 20-7 with a little more than one-and-a-half quarters left, Michael Bennett turned the momentum with a 54-yard kickoff return. Brooks Bollinger's three-yard TD pass to Chris Chambers brought the Badgers to within 20-14. On UCLA 's next drive, Ben Herbert made a key fourth-down stop on a fake field goal by the Bruins. The Badgers took over on their own 30-yard line and drove for the tying score, a six-yard run byBennett. Vitaly Pisetsky's conversion was the winning point.
