Louis Holland was a halfback at UW from 1961-63, helping UW amass a 19-9 record over those seasons, including a memorable Rose Bowl Game against USC on Jan. 1, 1963. Holland rushed for 934 yards and 22 touchdowns in his career while also catching 36 passes for 366 yards and nine TDs. An all-purpose threat, Holland also completed 6-of-18 passes in his career, with three of his tosses resulting in scores.

Holland had one of his best games as a Badger in 1962 against then-No.1-ranked Northwestern. Holland accounted for three touchdowns as UW defeated the Wildcats, 37-6. He continued his stellar play the next week at Illinois, scoring four TDs, including three in the first quarter, becoming the first Badger to score four touchdowns in a game. Even more remarkable is that Holland only touched the ball seven times against the Illini (four carries, one reception, one kickoff return and one punt return).

In the memorable loss to USC later that season in the Rose Bowl, Holland ignited the Badger near-comeback with a 13-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter. In 1962, Holland led the Big Ten in touchdowns scored and punt returns.

Following a short stint in the Canadian Football League, Holland went on to found and later become the managing partner and chief investment officer of Holland Capital Management, L.P., an investment management company in Chicago.

Holland's son, Tyler, will be a senior in 2009, his fourth season as a walk-on for the Badgers. The younger Holland has made his mark on special teams, appearing in 36 games in his first three seasons. Last season he was a regular on the kickoff, kickoff return and punt teams. A two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection, Holland has 11 tackles in his career.
