Dec. 10, 2012
MADISON, Wis. -- The 2012 tax deadline is quickly approaching. Now may be a good time to evaluate your tax planning for this year and consider making a contribution to Wisconsin Athletics. In addition to supporting educational and athletic opportunities for Badger student-athletes, there are a number of potential tax advantages available to those making a gift to Wisconsin Athletics.
One option to consider is an outright cash gift to Wisconsin Athletics. With less than a month remaining in the current calendar year, we encourage you to renew or begin your support of Badger student-athletes today. You may make your gift electronically by clicking here.
Another option to consider is a planned gift to Wisconsin Athletics. In addition to supporting our student-athletes, there are potential significant tax advantages particularly with appreciated assets such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds and real estate. There are also giving vehicles such as annuities and charitable trusts, which can provide income to you along with supporting Wisconsin Athletics.
Please note all donors who contribute by December 31, 2012, will have first opportunity to request tickets for 2012-13 Big Ten and NCAA men's basketball tournament tickets along with men's hockey post-season tickets. December 31 is also the priority deadline for access to the online Ticket Marketplace located at UWBadgers.com. The Ticket Marketplace is a benefit to help donors to Wisconsin Athletics purchase the best available seats to sold out Badger athletic events in a transaction fully supported by the Wisconsin Athletic Ticket Office.
Donors to Wisconsin Athletics support the educational and facility needs of over 800 student-athletes that compete in 23 varsity sports. In addition to making a remarkable difference in the lives of those Badger student-athletes, donors are offered a variety of benefits.
Your gift, regardless of the size, makes an impact. We thank our friends who have already supported Wisconsin Athletics this calendar year. Please contact the Athletic Development Office at 608-262-1000 or firstname.lastname@example.org with questions or for more information.
