MADISON, Wis.--The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will host a Toys for Tots Drive at the UW men's hockey game against Michigan Tech on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012.
UW student-athletes will be collecting new, unwrapped toys and cash donations at all gate entrances. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Marine Corps Toys for Tots campaign that provides holiday gifts to underprivileged children throughout Dane County.
"We're really excited about the Toys for Tots drive," said SAAC Community Relations Chair Alexis Mitchell. "It's an organization that is close to our hearts as student-athletes and we hope Badger fans will come out and support UW men's hockey and this great cause."
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is composed of representatives from each of the 23 athletic teams at UW-Madison that serve as liaisons between the student-athlete population and the coaches, administrative, NCAA, and other related entities. It aims to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity, protecting student-athlete welfare and fostering a positive student-athlete image.
