Wayne Hansen has been named director of development at the University of Wisconsin, UW Associate Athletic Director Marija Pientka announced today. Hansen, who served in a similar role from 1996-2005, will focus his efforts on securing private support for facility projects and endowments.
Wisconsins athletic development efforts have enjoyed tremendous growth during Hansens tenure with the Badgers. He played a key role in securing private support for the construction or renovation of a number of facility projects, including the Kohl Center, Porter Boathouse and Camp Randall Stadium Renovation.
Hansen also played a lead role in developing the sales and marketing effort for 36 Kohl Center Suites, 72 Camp Randall Suites, 330 Buckingham Club Seats and 600 Varsity Club. All these premium seating opportunities have been sold out since their inception.

Prior to joining the UW Athletics development staff, Hansen enjoyed a successful 30-year career in sales and marketing for a national company serving the banking industry.
Hansen is a UW-Madison graduate and letterwinner in football and golf. He has been very active in the University community, serving on the board of directors of the Wisconsin Alumni Association, Mendota Gridiron Club, Badger Basketball Boosters, Inc.
