MADISON, Wis. -- Student Athletes Equally Supporting Others (SAESO) will host 'A Party for Parties' at the Great Hall in the Memorial Union on Thursday, Nov. 1, from 8 p.m.-12 a.m.
Students are encouraged to attend and learn more about voter registration and polling locations, as well as to have any questions they might have answered during Q&A sessions with the College Democrats of Madison and the College Republicans of Madison.
Social change speaker, Delta Triplet will be discussing the importance of student participation in the election. The event is free and food and drinks will be provided. There will be dancing and a DJ during the second portion of the event. Informational pamphlets covering each candidate's stance on the major issues, pertinent voter registration and election day information will be distributed to students on their way out.
The main purpose of the event is to bring together students who may not usually interact together, including student athletes, non-athletes, different organizations as well as Republicans, Democrats, and non-partisan members on campus.
SAESO hopes to bridge to political gap between students on campus and create a positive association between one's right to vote and fun.
During October, SAESO held a Jock the Vote campaign and registered over 75 student-athletes to vote. The event's informational and laid-back environment is hoped to add as many students and student-athletes as possible to that total.
