FOOTBALL (6-2, 3-1 Big Ten)
This Week: Wisconsin looks to build on a three-game Big Ten win streak when the Badgers host Michigan State (4-4, 1-3) Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Camp Randall Stadium. UW has won 12 straight Big Ten games at home and 16 of its last 19 in conference play overall.
Last Week: The Badgers retained possession of Paul Bunyan’s Axe for the ninth-consecutive season by running past Border Battle rival Minnesota in a 38-13 win at Camp Randall Stadium, UW’s 21st-consecutive home win.
Need to Know: After scoring 10 touchdowns in his last four games, senior RB Montee Ball enters this weekend five TDs shy of breaking the NCAA career record of 78, held by Miami (Ohio)’s Travis Prentice.

VOLLEYBALL (15-8, 3-7 Big Ten)
This Week: The Badgers (15-8, 3-7) open the second half of Big Ten Conference play by hosting No. 25 Illinois (10-10, 4-6) and Northwestern (14-7, 3-7). Wisconsin and the Fighting Illini face off on Friday at 7 p.m. UW has a day off before playing the Wildcats at 1 p.m. Both matches are in the UW Field House.
Last Week: UW wrapped up the first half of Big Ten play tied for ninth place in the league standings at 3-7. Wisconsin lost at No. 10 Minnesota, 3-0, last Wednesday and fell to Indiana, 3-1, last Friday.
Need to Know: The Badgers reclaimed the lead in Big Ten matches with 16.08 digs per set. Junior Annemarie Hickey leads the Big Ten in conference matches with 4.58 digs per set. The 5-8 libero has double-figure digs in 21-of-23 matches this season, including seven matches with 20-or-more digs.

WOMEN'S SOCCER (12-5-1, 5-4-1 Big Ten)
This Week: The Badgers (12-5-1, 5-4-1 Big Ten) conclude their 2012 season by visiting Iowa City, Iowa, for a duel with the Hawkeyes on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Last Week: Wisconsin capped off its 2-0-0 week with a 2-1 comeback win over Indiana on Sunday. Senior Joana Bielefeld secured the win in the match’s final minute, earning the game-winning goal six minutes after freshman McKenna Meuer tallied the equalizer.
Need to Know: UW earned its fifth-straight win on Sunday, and have now tallied five-consecutive victories in each of the past three seasons.

WOMEN'S HOCKEY (3-2-2, 1-3-2-2 WHCA)
This Week: The women’s hockey team continues its home stand at LaBahn Arena hosting New Hampshire for a Friday-Sunday series this upcoming weekend. The games are set to begin at 7 p.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. on Sunday.
Last Time Out: The long awaited debut of LaBahn Arena was spoiled by Bemidji State last weekend, as the Beavers used a goal off a defensive miscommunication behind the Badger net to upset UW, 1-0, in the first game in the new barn. Wisconsin was kept winless on the weekend after BSU used a last minute goal in the third period on Sunday to force a 3-3 tie to close out the series.
Need to Know: The Badgers are undefeated (7-0-6) in their last 13 games that have gone into overtime. So far this season, the Badgers have played in two overtime games, with both ending as ties.

This Week: The men’s soccer team wraps up its home schedule with two games at the McClimon Soccer Complex this week, hosting UMKC on Wednesday at 7 p.m. and Northwestern on Sunday at noon.
Last Week: Wisconsin picked up its second-straight home win last Wednesday, downing Green Bay, 3-0. Nick Janus and Jerry Maddi both recorded a goal and an assist in the win. The Badgers then traveled to East Lansing, Mich., for a conference tilt against Michigan State, where they fell 2-0 to the Spartans.
Need to Know: Both Chris Prince and Nick Janus are ranked in the top-10 among conference players for most points. Prince sits tied for fifth with 11 points (3g, 5a), while Janus is tied for ninth with nine points (4g, 1a).

This Week: The Badgers complete their fall schedule at the Wendy’s Kiawah Classic, Oct. 28-30, at the Turtle Point Golf Club in Kiawah Island, S.C.
Last Week: Wisconsin finished 15th at the Autotrader.com Collegiate Classic. Thomas O’Bryan led UW with an 11-over par 76-77-71--224 tying him for 27th.

Last Time Out: This past weekend at the famous Head of the Charles regatta in Boston the Badger men placed eighth and eleventh, respectively, in the men’s four and men’s eight races.
Need to Know: At least year’s Head of the Iowa, the Wisconsin men dominated the field, both winning and claiming the top four spots in each of the five races they competed in.

Need to Know: At the Head of the Iowa last year, the Badger openweights placed fourth, seventh and eight in the varsity eights race, first in the novice four race, first and second in the varsity four race and first, fourth, and sixth in the novice eight race. The Badgers also swept the top four spots in the varsity pairs race.

MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY
This Week: The No. 20-ranked Badgers head to East Lansing, Mich., in search of their 14th-consecutive conference title at the 2012 Big Ten Championship. The meet begins at 9:45 a.m. (CT) at Michigan State’s Forest Akers East Golf Course.
Last Week: The Badgers were idle following a 17th-place finish in their own Wisconsin adidas Invitational on Oct. 12, a meet that saw senior Maverick Darling earn an impressive fifth-place finish in his season debut.
Need to Know: The Badgers return three of their top four finishers from the team that scored 17 points to finish with the second-lowest winning score in meet history at the 2011 Big Ten Championship.
Good to Know: Big Ten Network will air a tape-delayed broadcast of the championship at 8 a.m. (CT) on Sunday, Nov. 4.
WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY
This Week: Wisconsin heads to East Lansing, Mich., for the 2012 Big Ten Championship looking to build on last year’s fourth-place finish. UW returns three of its top five finishers from last season, including reigning Big Ten Freshman of the Year Gabrielle Anzalone.
Last Week: The Badgers sent a large group of developmental runners to the UW-Oshkosh Open and came away with the title by recording a perfect score of 15 team points. Led by sophomore Kristen Yarows, Wisconsin athletes swept the top 12 spots in the event.
Need to Know: UW scored 89 points en route to its fourth-place finish last season, the Badgers’ best finish in the event since 2008.
Good to Know: Big Ten Network will air a tape-delayed broadcast of the championship at 8 a.m. (CT) on Sunday, Nov. 4.

This Week: Wisconsin hits the road for its third Big Ten dual meet of 2012, as it travels to Minneapolis, Minn., to take on the Gophers on Friday.

Need to Know: Senior Michael Weiss was recently named to the 2012 Short Course World Championships U.S. team. The short course world championships are scheduled for Dec. 12-15, in Istanbul, Turkey. UW head coach Whitney L. Hite will join Weiss on the U.S. squad as an assistant coach.
