FOOTBALL
This Week: The No. 4-ranked Badgers (5-0, 1-0 Big Ten) return from their bye week to host Indiana in a Homecoming matchup Saturday at Camp Randall Stadium. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m., with the game airing live on ESPN2.

Last Week: The Badgers were idle after opening Big Ten play two weeks ago with a 48-17 win over then-No. 8 Nebraska inside Camp Randall.

Need to Know: Wisconsin’s defense has allowed just six touchdowns in five games this season and ranks in a tie for third nationally in scoring defense at a stingy 10.2 points allowed per game. Only Alabama (5) has allowed fewer touchdowns than UW.

MEN'S HOCKEY
This Week: Wisconsin (1-1-0, 0-0-0 WCHA) makes its first road trip of the season and opens conference play with a trip to Michigan Tech (2-0-0, 0-0-0 WCHA) for a Friday-Saturday series. Both games begin 6 p.m. CT.

Last Week: The Badgers played a pair of 3-2 contests, falling in overtime on Friday and coming back for a victory on Saturday. Freshman Joseph LaBate scored a goal and two assists in his first Badger weekend.

Need to Know: Wisconsin owns an 11-game winning streak against Michigan Tech, two shy of the school record for a winning streak against a single opponent.

VOLLEYBALL
This Week: The Badgers (11-7, 3-3 Big Ten) return home after a four-match road swing to host No. 6 Nebraska (13-1, 6-0) and Iowa (11-8, 1-5) this weekend. Wisconsin faces off against the Huskers on Friday at 7 p.m. and takes on the Hawkeyes on Sunday at 1 p.m. in a match that will air on the Big Ten Network.

Last Week: UW wrapped up its four-match road swing with a 2-2 mark, including a 1-1 record last weekend. The Badger fell at Michigan State 3-1 last Friday before upsetting No. 18 Michigan on Saturday.  

Need to Know: Nebraska head coach John Cook returns to play Wisconsin for the first time since leaving the Badgers 13 years ago. Cook served as the UW’s head coach from 1992-98, compiling a 161-73 record in seven years.

WOMEN'S SOCCER
This Week: Wisconsin (8-4-2, 3-1-2 Big Ten) plays in its final road games of the season this weekend with trips to Northwestern on Friday night and Illinois on Sunday afternoon.

Last Week: Cara Walls and Laurie Nosbusch each scored, and Michele Dalton had a season-high 11 saves as UW won at Nebraska, 2-0.

Need to Know: With 11 points, the Badgers are all alone in second place in the Big Ten standings.

Good to Know: Both games feature live stats, while Sunday’s game will be shown live on the Big Ten Network.

MEN'S SOCCER
This Week:
Wisconsin (6-4-2, 2-0-0 Big Ten) looks to remain undefeated in Big Ten action when it hosts Michigan State on Oct. 16 at the McClimon Complex.

Last Week: UW took No. 5 Creighton into overtime, but could not hold on, falling 2-1 to the Bluejays. The Badgers rebounded for a 2-1 win over Michigan on Sunday, defeating the Wolverines for the first time ever in Ann Arbor.

Need to Know: Junior Tomislav Zadro extended his point streak to 10 games and leads UW with 15 points. The midfielder leads the Big Ten with seven assists.

WOMEN'S HOCKEY
This Week:
The Badgers (4-0-0, 2-0-0-0) continue their October schedule filled with ranked opponents as they host No. 3 Minnesota this weekend at the Kohl Center. The games are set for Friday at 7p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

Last Time Out: Wisconsin swept No.6 North Dakota last weekend. Carolyne Prévost scored a hat trick in her senior-season debut game to help down the Sioux 5-2 on
Saturday. Battling back from a 2-0 deficit on Sunday, the Badgers tied the game with one minute remaining in the 3rd period before scoring the game-winner half way through overtime to claim a 3-2 victory.

Need to Know: Wisconsin is unbeaten in the last 31 games, having gone 29-0-2 since Nov. 28, 2010. UW only needs one more win to tie the NCAA record for longest unbeaten streak, which was set by the Badgers in 2007.

MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
This Week: The No. 2-ranked Wisconsin men’s cross country team hosts its final home event of the year -- and one of the premier events in the nation this season -- when it welcomes 40 teams to the third-annual Wisconsin adidas Invitational at the Zimmer Championship Course on Friday. The men’s 8-kilometer championship race is set for 1:40 p.m.

Last Week: The Badgers were idle after an impressive showing two weeks ago at the Bill Dellinger Invitational in Springfield, Ore. UW took the team title in that event as a number of the team’s top runners made their season debuts. Junior Reed Connor finished second overall and was named Big Ten Men’s Runner of the Week.

Need to Know: Friday’s meet includes 21 of the 30 teams ranked in last week’s
national coaches poll by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, as well as another six squads that received votes.

Good to Know: Flotrack.org will be on site to provide coverage of the Wisconsin adidas Invitational, including race videos and post-race interviews with top athletes.


WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
This Week:
Wisconsin hosts its final home event of the season at the Zimmer Championship Course by welcoming an elite field of 42 teams for the third-annual Wisconsin adidas Invitational. The 6-kilometer women’s championship race opens the event at 1 p.m.

Last Week: UW was idle after an impressive runner-up team finish at the Bill Dellinger Invitational in Springfield, Ore., two weeks ago. The Badgers were led by freshman Gabrielle Anzalone, who finished ninth overall and was named Big Ten Women’s Runner of the Week.

Need to Know: Anzalone claimed the overall win in UW’s last home event, the Badger Opener on Sept. 9. The victory came in her first-ever collegiate race, where she clocked a time of 18:02 to pace the field in the 5-kilometer event.

MEN'S TENNIS
This Week: The men’s tennis team is in action this week at the ITA Midwest Regional in Columbus, Ohio. The competition begins on Thursday and runs through Tuesday, Oct. 18.

Last Week: Billy Bertha and Alexander Kostanov represented UW at the ITA
All-American Tennis Championships in Tusla, Okla., where both fell in the first round.

Need to Know: Last year, then-senior Marek Michalicka advanced to the third round at the ITA Midwest Regional in both singles and doubles play.

MEN'S GOLF
This Week:
The Badgers make their first visit to the historic Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio, for the 54-hole Firestone Invitational.

Last Week: Wisconsin placed ninth ay the Weibring Intercollegiate (Oct. 1-2), its second-straight top-10 finish this fall.

Need to Know: Junior Anthony Aicher has led Wisconsin in all three fall events and is averaging 74.37 strokes per round.

Good to Know: Live scoring is available on GolfStat.com.


WOMEN'S GOLF
This Week: Wisconsin competes in the Lady Northern Invitational being held at the site of next April’s Big Ten Women’s Golf Championship in French Lick, Ind.

Last Week: UW has been idle since winning its own Badger Invitational Sept. 26.

Need to Know: Junior Lindsay Danielson continues to lead UW in scoring this fall, hitting 74.67 per round.

Good to Know: All but three Big Ten teams will be participating in this very-competitive meet which often predicts the eventual winner of the conference championship. Complete results can be found on UWBadgers.com following the event.
