MADISON, Wis. -- Bucky is going to be bronzed.
Well, it’s not really Bucky, but it is a badger. Thanks to the generosity of the National W Club, a new landmark will debut outside of Camp Randall Stadium on Thursday, prior to the Wisconsin football season opener against UNLV.
All are welcome to join in the unveiling of a new bronze badger statue to be located near the sidewalk on Monroe Street between The Shell and Camp Randall. The unveiling will occur at approximately 4:30 p.m.
“We are pleased to be able to donate this new bronze badger to the area outside the stadium,” National W Club Executive Director Terry Murawski said. “We think it will become a familiar landmark for Badger fans as well as a great photo opportunity.”
Following the unveiling of the badger statue, fans are encouraged to enjoy food, beverages and entertainment at the Badgerville pre-game event on the field outside the north end of Camp Randall Stadium. Badgerville is free and open to the public 2 1/2 hours before kickoff.
